Lesson 32 Trains Go Faster!一、教材分析1. 教學目標l 語言知識 掌握詞匯:wheel, born, passenger, railway, most, station, standard, speed, be born, get on/off, steam enginel 語言技能 理解并能靈活運用書中的重點單詞、短語談論火車的發(fā)展史。l 情感態(tài)度培養(yǎng)學生英語閱讀能力,保持學習英語的濃厚興趣,提高學生之間的合作能力。l 教學策略學生通過思考、討論、交流和合作等方式,了解“火車發(fā)展史”。 在教學過程中借助多媒體,提高課堂效率。2. 教學重點 通過了解信息,豐富有關火車發(fā)展的知識,掌握本課重點詞匯。3. 教學難點 培養(yǎng)學生閱讀能力以及合作能力。 二、教學準備 多媒體課件、配套教學光盤三、教學步驟Step 1 Class opening(2 minutes)T: Good morning, class. Many of us like travelling. How do you usually travel to other cities? 向?qū)W生提出問題,并請3-5個學生回答問題,使用課件出示圖片。Yes, we usually travel to other cities by bicycle/car/taxi/air/ship/train.Step2 New Concepts1. Leading in(1 minute)出示火車上乘客的圖片,并介紹:How exciting the passengers were! It was fun to take a train. 教學passenger( n. 乘客)。出示不同時期的火車圖片,教師介紹Today we will read about the history of trains. Trains werent always as they are today. New trains are faster than old ones. 引出本課課題并板書Lesson 32 Trains Go Faster!2. Presentation & Practice(8 minutes)出示圖片,引導學生學習生詞,并初步了解有關火車的知識。 In the 1700s, many scientists worked on steam engines.In the 1760s, a scientist in England found a way to put steam engines and wheels together. In 1804, the first train engine was born in England. It travelled only about fifteen kilometres in two hours. The Rocket was the most famous early engine. Do you know what a railway is? A railway is the special road that trains travel on. During the 1830s, countries all over the world started to build railways. People built many train stations to help passengers get on and off the trains easily. Early trains were slow by todays standards Todays high-speed trains can travel at about 300 kilometers per hour. 3. Listen and think!(3 minutes)提出以下兩個問題,請同學聽教學光盤中的內(nèi)容,并回答問題。T: Now we are going to listen to the text and try to answer two questions. 1. When was the first railway born? 2. Why did people build train stations?Ask the students to listen carefully and write down their answers. Then check the answers together. 4. Read silently and do Lets Do It! Ex. 1.(6 minutes)默讀課文內(nèi)容,完成Lets Do It!Ex. 1。T: Were going to know more details about trains. Please read silently and do Lets Do It! Ex. 1. Try to make sure the students can understand the questions well. 巡視學生做題情況,并對學生的答案進行評判,及時指導學生作答。在此環(huán)節(jié),要限定學生閱讀及做題時間,并根據(jù)問題的難易程度,請同學板書答案。在訂正時,要講解問題的答案出處,以及根據(jù)原文如何作答。Step 3 Group Work(12 minutes)分組合作,進一步幫助同學掌握本課有關火車的發(fā)展史。T: Discuss in groups. Try to think about which events are the most important. Then use short sentences to explain.
