1.Whatcanwelearnfromthetwocamps’opinionsaboutfuturecolleges?A.Futureworkforcewillhavehighlevelsofeducation.

B.Theexpensivetraditionaldegreeislosingitsappeal.

C.Traditionalhighereducationisnotpractical.

D.Decliningenrollmentincollegeresultsfromeasylearning.

2“Wearelivinginanageforlearning,whenthere’ssomuchknowledgeavailable,thatonewouldthinkthatthisisgoodnewsforhighereducation,”BryanAlexandertoldmerecently.AlexanderwritesoftenaboutthefutureofhighereducationandisfinishingabookonthesubjectforJohnsHopkinsUniversityPress.“Yetwe’veseenenrollmentinhighereducationdropforsixyears.”3Alexanderbelievesthatforsomecollegesanduniversitiestosurvive,theyneedtoshiftfromtheirhistoricalmissionofservingonetypeofstudent(usuallyateenagerfreshoutofhighschool)foraspecificperiodoftime.“We’regoingtoseemanydifferentwaysthroughhighereducationinthefuture,”Alexandersaid,“fromclosertiesbetweensecondaryandpostsecondary(中學(xué)后)schoolstonewoptionsforadults.Thequestionis,whichinstitutionsadoptnewmodelsandwhichtrydesperatelytohangontowhattheyhave.”

2.WhatshouldtraditionalcollegesdoaccordingtoAlexander?A.Theyshouldprovidenewoptionsforadultstoentercolleges.(receivepassthrough)B.Theshouldstrengthenthetiesbetweensecondaryandpostsecondaryschools.

C.Theyshouldabandonwhattheyhaveandchangetheirhistoricalmission.

D.Theyshouldoffermorefreedomtostudentsthroughouttheirlife.

4“Thefactisthattomaintainaffordability,accessibilityandexcellence,somethingneedstochange,”RafaelBras,GeorgiaTech’sprovost(院長(zhǎng))andexecutivevice(副的)presidentforacademicaffairs,toldmewhenheunveiledthereportattheMilkenInstituteGlobalConferencethispastspring.5Thecommission’sreportincludesmanyimpressiveideas,butthreepointtothepossibilityofaverydifferentfutureforcollegesanduniversities.

第三題考查:根據(jù)文中事實(shí)和線(xiàn)索作出簡(jiǎn)單的判斷和推理3.Whatcanweinferfromthecommission’sreport?A.Studentscanreturnforfurtherstudyormakedonationsfreelyaftergraduation.B.Artificialintelligenceandvirtualtutorswillperformbetterincareerguidance.

C.Itfocusesonhowtomakepeopleenjoygoodeducationwithoutstress.

D.Thereisnopointinrequiringstudentstobepresentatschool. 9GeorgiaTechimaginesafutureinwhichthe

areblendedinwhatitcallsthe“atrium”—aplacethatsharespacewithentrepreneursandbecomegatheringplacesforstudentsandalumni(校友).

4.Theunderlinedwords“twoworlds”referto_______.A.BasiceducationandhighereducationB.entrepreneursandstudentsC.presenteducationandfutureeducationD.virtualeducationandrealclasses

10Insomeways,asthereportnoted,theatriumideaisanodtothepast,whenuniversitieshadagriculturalandengineeringexperimentstationswithservicesclosertowherepeopleinthestateneededthem.11WhetherGeorgiaTech’sideaswillbecomerealis,ofcourse,unclear.ButasAlexandertoldmeafterreadingit,“Thereisastrongemphasisonflexibilityandtransformationsotheycanmeetemergenttrends.”Thisisclear:collegesanduniversitiesareabouttoundergoaperi
