新目標英語七年級下冊Unit 8 Is there a post office near here? Period 4 (Section B 1a-1d )湘潭市雨湖區(qū)仙女中學 劉柳1. 學情分析:學生在Section A的學習中基本掌握了日常生活中常用的地點名詞,并通過相關的聽說練習能較好地運用There be; Where句型及方位介詞詢問和描述某一地點的具體位置。但是學生聽力基礎較差,還未養(yǎng)成良好的聽力應對技巧。因此針對本堂課1b的聽力訓練做出如下設計:先要求學生關注所要去的地點,即關注對話中說話者的提問。然后在聽第二遍的時候再去對應 A與B的位置,從而簡化聽力難度。2. 教學目標:1. Knowledge Objects(1). Function: Ask for and give directions on the street.(2). Words & expressions: . Be able to use the following curriculum words.along, turn, right, left, crossing . Be able to use the following useful expressions. turn left, turn right, on the left, on the right, at the first crossing when you see(3). Target Language:. Go along Long Street. Turn right at the first crossing. . Then restaurant is on the left.2. Ability Objects(1). Be able to understand and use the useful expressions. (2). Be able to focus on the key information when they listen. (3). Be able to transform the listening information into version information.3. Moral Objects(1). Ss realize the importance of cooperation.(2). Ss be able to ask and give directions in daily life.3. 重點難點:(1). Prepositions of place.(2). Useful words and expressions.(3). Use expressions of giving directions.4. 教學過程:4.1 第一學時1. 教學活動Step1 Lead-in1. T: Nowadays, people in Xiangtan are working for the honor of National Civilized City. Its our duty to do something, do you think so? Lets be volunteers, OK? T: Look at this map. First please introduce your neighborhood.S1: There is a .around here.S2: There is a .around here.2. T: Very well, now, I am a little hungry. Where is the restaurant? ( Guide Ss to say “Its on North Street”) How many ways can you offer?Ask more places and write the prepositions of place students mentioned on the blackboard. This step helps Ss to review the words of places, prepositions as well as the expressions of describing the location of the place.Step2 Presentation1. T: As a volunteer, do you know how to go? Show a picture of a crossing. Use the arrows to present “go along”, “turn right”, “turn left”, “on the left” and “on the right”. The teacher can use the body language to help students to better understand the meaning of the phrases. For example, the teacher can stand next to a student and say “He is on my left.” Then the whole class read the phrases twice together.2. Ask students to stand up and do the actions that the teacher asks. Before that the teacher should present the gestures of each order.“Go along turn left turn right on the left on the right”3. Ask Ss to finish 1a. Match the words in the box with the signs.4. Show pictures of neighborhoods. Ask Ss to ask for and give directions.T: Look at the picture and then work in pairs to make conversations.S1: Excuse me. Is there a supermarket around here?S2: Yes, there is. Go along New Street and turn left when you see the parkAfter each picture Ss read the conversations together.Step3 Listening1. Ask Ss listen and find out where the student wants to go. Ask them to only pay attention to the questions.2. Ask Ss to look at the picture and give directions of the place A and B briefly like “ Go along Bridge Street and turn left.” 3. Play the listening material and then check the answers.4. Listen again and fill in the blanks. Before listening, the teacher helps Ss to predict the answers. After the listening, ask two Ss to read while others check their answers. In this part, the teacher should remind Ss to take notes skillfully, not writing the whole words while theyre listening. 5. The whole class role-play the conversation.Step4 Practice1. Group work: Ss work in groups to retell how to get to the hotel and the restaurant. They can talk about how to get to other places if they like.2. Tell the background and the requests of the activity.T: Imagine our classroom is a neighborhood.A:You are a volunteer here. Try to help people to find the place. B:You are a foreigner. Ask and find where the place is. 3. Show the map of the “neighborhood” and an example to tell Ss how to do it. Then ask two Ss to work in pairs. A asks for and B gives directions. While A is giving directions, B should listen and find the place and show the card in front of the “place”(the group). Then the teacher presents the right place on the screen to check if B finds the place. This task involves Ss oral and listening skills. 4. Reward the student a “medal” as the best volunteer.Step5 ConsolidationSs review the knowledge in this class.Step6 HomeworkDraw a picture of your neighborhood. Then make conversations about two places:A: Excuse me. Is there a around here?B: Yes, there is. Just go along and turn at the first crossing/ when you see the.
