I was about to go up when I decided to get a coffee first. As I was waiting in line with other office workers, I heard a loud sound. Before I could join the others outside to see what was going on, the first plane had already hit my office building. 3) 進(jìn)一步熟練掌握過去完成時(shí)的用法。2. 情感態(tài)度價(jià)值觀目標(biāo):1) 通過學(xué)習(xí)使學(xué)生認(rèn)識(shí)到生活中充滿著許多出乎預(yù)料的事件,培養(yǎng)學(xué)生正確看待事物的積極心態(tài)。2)能運(yùn)用所掌握的語(yǔ)法,句型和詞匯進(jìn)行交流。3)能比較流利地講述自己曾經(jīng)有的特別的一天。二、教學(xué)重難點(diǎn)1. 教學(xué)重點(diǎn):1)掌握本課時(shí)中出現(xiàn)的生詞block, in line with, worker, stare, disbelief, above, burn, burning, alive, airport, till , west2) 學(xué)會(huì)用過去完成時(shí)敘述自己曾經(jīng)有的特別的一天。2. 教學(xué)難點(diǎn):用過去完成時(shí)敘述自己曾經(jīng)有的特別的一天。三、教學(xué)過程. Reading Work on 3a. Read the passage and answer the questions: 1) Which two events does the writer mention?2) How did the writer end up missing both events?1. Ask Ss to have a look at the questions before they start. 2. Let Ss complete the work on their own. 3. After a while, ask some students to report their answers to the classWrite the events on the blackboard as they reportKeys: 1). The writer mentions the September 11 attack in New York and the earthquake in New Zealand.2). The writer went to get a coffee first and was not in the office when the plane hit the World Trade Center. He/she had overslept and missed his/her flight, so he/she was able to avoid the earthquake. 4. The unexpected thing came about when I was waiting in the line that a plane crashed the office building where I work. People were staring at the burning plane in disbelief. How dangerous it was! . Language points 1. I was about to go up when I decided to get a coffee first. be about to 忙于;即將做某事。側(cè)重于表示動(dòng)作馬上就要發(fā)生,常與when引導(dǎo)的從句連用,但不與具體的時(shí)間狀語(yǔ)連用。 e.g. One of my friends is about to have her second baby. 我的一個(gè)朋友馬上就要生第二個(gè)小孩了。2. I went to my favorite coffee place even though it was two blocks east from my office. even though 即使, 雖然, 盡管, 用于引導(dǎo)讓步狀語(yǔ)從句。 block n. 街區(qū) e.g. Hes the best teacher, even though he has the least experience. 他雖然經(jīng)驗(yàn)最少,卻是最好的老師。3. We stared in disbelief at the black smoke rising above the burning building. stare v. 盯著看, 凝視 表示看得比較仔細(xì),有時(shí)候也帶有吃驚的意味去看,常與at, into連用。 e.g. Dont stare at me like that. 別那樣盯著我看。in disbelief 不相信 ,疑惑, 懷疑e.g. Tamara stared at him in disbelief, shaking her head. 塔瑪拉一邊狐疑地盯著他看,一邊搖著頭。 She looked at him in disbelief. 她全然不信地看著他。above prep. 1)(表示位置)在正上方;高于”(與 below相對(duì))。 e.g. That big high-rise above us is where Brian lives. 我們上面的那座摩天大樓就是布賴恩住的地方。 He lifted his hands above his head. 他將雙手舉過頭頂。2) 表示在地位、級(jí)別、能力、資歷、重要性等方面“超過”、“在之上”、“比強(qiáng)”。 e.g. He is above the others in ability. 他的能力優(yōu)于其他人。 He is above me in every way. 他各個(gè)方面都比我強(qiáng)。3) adv. 在上面 e.g. There are snowy peaks above. 上面是白雪皚皚的群峰。 See the examples given above. 見上述例子。burn v. 著火,燃燒(burnt, burnt / burned, burned)burning adj. 著火的;燃燒的e.g. Ouch! The sand is so hot! I can burn my feet. 哎喲!沙子這么燙!會(huì)燙傷腳的。 He was trapped in a burning house. 他被困在正在燃燒的房屋里。4. I felt lucky to be alive. alive 一般作表語(yǔ);也可以作后置定語(yǔ)或賓補(bǔ)。 “活(著)的;在世的;(繼續(xù))存在的”;反義詞是dead。 e.g. Do you know shes alive? 你知道她還活著嗎? People alive should try their best to live better. (后置定語(yǔ)) 活下來(lái)的人應(yīng)該盡力生活得更好。 Tom was kept alive in the big fire. ( 賓補(bǔ)) 湯姆在這次大火中活下來(lái)了。辨析 alive, living, livelyalive “活著的”,在句中常作表語(yǔ)或定語(yǔ)。作表語(yǔ)時(shí),??膳cliving互換;作定語(yǔ)時(shí),常要放在被修飾詞之后。living“活著的”,在句中用作表語(yǔ)或定語(yǔ)。lively“活潑的”,在句中可作表語(yǔ)或定語(yǔ)。5. But by the time I got to the airport, my plane to New Zealand had already taken off. airport n. 機(jī)場(chǎng) take off 脫掉; 起飛 e.g. He took off his hat and bowed as he passed. 他經(jīng)過時(shí)脫帽鞠躬。 We eventually took off at 11 oclock and arrived in Venice at 1:30. 我們終于在11點(diǎn)起飛,1:30 到達(dá)威尼斯。VII.
