Say the names of the four main animal characters in the textbook;2. Identify and get familiar with the four animals;3. Enjoy making friends w
2、hit the four animals.Language focus:The name of the four main animal characters, i.e. Andy(the monkey), Amy(the rabbit),Bobby(the elephant), and Koto(the kangaroo)By the end of this lesson, some children might be able to pick up the language “hi/hello. Whats your name? My name is ” through singing t

Whats your name?”Materials needed:Tapes ; puppets and pictures of Andy, Amy, Bobby and Koto; the fragmentary pictures of Andy, Amy, Bobby and Koto.Procedures:Activity 1: listen to the song “hi, hello. Whats your name?” and get o know four animal friends. (Do the “l(fā)ets sing ” sect
4、ion of page 2)1. Show a puppet monkey to get children to guess his name and then ask them to listen to the song “hi, hello. Whats your name?” and try to find out his name, i.e. Andy.2. Use the same way to introduce Andys three friends, Amy, The rabbit , Bobby, the elephant, and Koto, the kangaroo.(u
5、se the puppets to introduce the names of the four main animal characters in the textbook, and get the children to listen to the song four times very carefully since they want to find out the names of the animals from this song. Thus, they get exposure to the language “hi/hello. Whats your name? My n
6、ame is ” four times in a meaningful situation, and some children might begin to pick up these sentences.)Activity 2: Look for the animals! (do the “l(fā)ets play” play a “choose and stick” game to give each child an English name.)1. the teacher holds up a flash care with an English name on it and reads the English name,
14、 for example, “Julia! Whos Julia?”2. all the girls who like this name can raise their hands and learn to say “Im Julia!” after the teacher. Then, the girl who can sy the name the most accurately and beautifully will get the flash card with this English name.3. the teacher tears down a sticker pictur
15、e representing the symbol of the name, Julia and gives it to the girl as a prize4. .the girl can stick the symbol beside “Julia” an write down her Chinese name beside her symbol on the appendix, “names: write your name and your friends name.” At the end of the students book one. Other children also
16、write down the girls Chinese name on the appendix.5. the teacher uses this “choose and stick” game to give each child an English name.This game can arouse the childrens interest in saying and competing for an English name and also make them proud of their English name and its symbol.
